Salia Sahi Charity Event
We hosted an event for underprivileged children and senior citizens in Salia Sahi. It is one of the largest slums of Odisha populated by approx. 1lakh people. This event was an endeavor by Muvi Foundation aiming at improving individual life and social betterment.
Conducted at the community hall, Salia Sahi, the event saw a gathering of around 300 that comprised children, women, and senior citizens. There was a special awareness program conducted for girls on sanitation wherein sanitary pads were distributed among participants followed by a discussion on the impact of unhygienic sanitary practices on women’s health. The session was followed by painting competition and fun activities for children.
“We always look forward to this time of the year when we get a chance to meet this section of society who despite the stress and arduous routine life embrace us with a smile and allow us to contribute to their life. Like every year, this year’s event is also special as we are contributing to an issue of national interest which is women’s health and sanitary hygiene. We had an amazingly informative and fun-filled session with the participants”, quoted Sheel Jena, Manager HR, Muvi.
The event was concluded with distribution ceremony where children were gifted with food packets, Study materials etc. Gifts were also distributed among women and senior citizens. We distributed Umbrellas and torches among the elderly. The smile that we saw on every face at end, made our event a successful one!
