Empowering the Women Who Keep Our City Clean
At MUVI Foundation, our unwavering commitment to social responsibility drives us to contribute meaningfully to the community. With our philosophy of dedicating 10% of our resources toward societal welfare, we take every opportunity to uplift those who work tirelessly to keep our surroundings clean and healthy.
On this special occasion of International Women’s Day, March 8, 2025, we turned our focus to the remarkable women workers of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) who dedicate their lives to keeping our city clean. Often unnoticed, these women perform the crucial tasks of sweeping and maintaining hygiene across Bhubaneswar. To honor their dedication, we organized a heartfelt event where we distributed sanitary kits to approximately 700 women workers.
Understanding their daily exposure to dirt and unhygienic conditions, we provided each worker with a specially curated sanitary kit consisting of essential hygiene products, including sanitary pads, hand sanitizers, antiseptic liquid, bandages, and other necessary items. These basic but vital supplies are often inaccessible to these women due to financial constraints, despite being crucial for their well-being.
Prior to organizing the event, we sought permission from the BMC Commissioner, who not only welcomed our initiative but also facilitated the necessary arrangements to ensure the event’s success. The distribution drive took place at Sandy’s Tower, XIMB Square, Bhubaneswar, where a large gathering of BMC women workers came together to receive the kits.
The atmosphere was filled with joy and gratitude as the workers received their unexpected yet much-needed gifts. Their smiles and appreciation reaffirmed our belief in the power of small acts of kindness. Seven to eight employees from MUVI Foundation actively participated in the distribution, ensuring smooth execution and a seamless experience for the beneficiaries.
As we move forward, MUVI Foundation remains committed to its mission of supporting underprivileged sections of society through meaningful and impactful initiatives. This Women’s Day celebration is just one of the many ways we strive to make a difference.
“Empowering those who empower us daily is not just an act of kindness, but a responsibility we all share.”
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who made this event possible and look forward to continuing our journey of social service with more such noble initiatives in the future.
